President Donald Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education. The Small Business Administration will now oversee the student loan portfolio, while the Department of Health and Human Services will manage special needs and nutrition programs. This move has sparked concerns, as the SBA announced a 43% staff reduction. Critics argue that this decision could negatively impact students and educators nationwide.

During a federal hearing on the same day, a judge raised concerns about Trump's use of wartime authority to deport individuals accused of gang affiliations. The judge described the policy as an "unprecedented and expanded use" of the Aliens Enemies Act. The administration's legal battles continue to draw attention and criticism.

In a world that often overlooks the unique challenges women face, one non-profit organization is making waves—literally and figuratively—by prioritizing the well-being of women at every life stage. Healing Herizons Foundation is a global initiative dedicated to empowering women from young adulthood through post-menopause, and it is currently making a significant impact in Jamaica.

Founded by the passionate Dr. Marion Lee Johnson, Healing Herizons operates on the belief that every woman, regardless of her background or circumstances, deserves the opportunity for personal and professional fulfillment. Based in Little Bay, Jamaica, the foundation currently offers innovative wellness retreats at the Coral Cove Wellness Resort. Here, women can embark on journeys of self-growth and healing while basking in the beauty of Jamaica’s stunning landscapes.

“Each retreat is designed to foster holistic well-being and create a supportive community,” Dr. Johnson explains. “We provide health services, educational workshops, and community-building activities that cater to the diverse needs of women.” By integrating these elements, Healing Herizons aims to equip women with the necessary tools and support to thrive in their daily lives.

But the organization’s reach extends far beyond the resort. Dr. Johnson emphasizes the importance of local engagement and collaboration with women-owned businesses. By creating a cycle of empowerment, the foundation not only enhances the personal development of women but also bolsters the local economy. “When we support each other, we build resilient communities that can uplift and empower,” she states.

The retreats are a unique concoction of wellness practices, workshops on skill development, and opportunities for personal reflection, all set against the backdrop of Jamaica’s serene beaches. Over six days and five nights, participants engage in activities that range from wellness sessions to entrepreneurial workshops, all tailored to foster growth and connection.

Herizons Foundation is dedicated to fostering mental health and well-being among women by offering a range of targeted programs designed to address stress management and emotional wellness. Through counseling support groups and workshops, they create safe spaces for individuals to share experiences and seek guidance. Additionally, Herizons Foundation actively promotes community engagement by building a strong network through events, community forums, and collaborative projects that encourage connection and shared experiences among participants. Their commitment to inclusivity is further exemplified by their digital platform, which provides virtual wellness programs and educational resources, enabling women to access essential support from anywhere, regardless of geographic location. Through these initiatives, Herizons Foundation empowers women to prioritize their mental health within a supportive and connected community.

Whether you’re seeking to rediscover yourself after life’s upheavals or simply wish to recharge your spirit, Healing Herizons welcomes all who resonate with their mission. Dr. Johnson encourages individuals interested in participating or supporting the retreats to reach out: “We always welcome volunteers, sponsors, and participants who are eager to join us on this journey of empowerment and healing.”

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has initiated its own inquiry into the murder of a Slovak tourist on Boracay Island. On Tuesday, March 18, police confirmed that an NBI team had examined the chapel of an abandoned hotel where 23-year-old Michaela Mickova was discovered deceased on March 12. NBI investigators scoured the crime scene for evidence on Saturday, March 15.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has identified three persons of interest in connection with the case, with two currently in custody. Witness testimonies have played a crucial role in the investigation, and law enforcement is actively working to collect evidence to ensure justice is served.

While specific details have not been released, authorities stated that Mickova suffered from a head hematoma but had no visible injuries. The cause of the hematoma remains unknown. Following an autopsy, Mickova's body was cremated at her family's request; her remains are expected to be sent back to Slovakia shortly.
