TODAY: Chrishell Stause and G Flip Announce Their Split After Four Years

Chrishell Stause and G Flip have separated after more than four years together, the Selling Sunset star said in a tearful video posted to Instagram on Monday, according to TODAY. G Flip, the Australian musician, confirmed the breakup in a separate written statement and asked for privacy.

Neither of them has given a public reason for the split. What follows is what the two have said themselves, as reported by TODAY and NBC News, and what is already on the record about their relationship.

What Chrishell Stause Said

Stause, 45, opened her video by telling followers she had "a pretty humbling update" to share. "G and I are no longer together, and we have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other," she said.

She added that the decision was not one she fully understands. "That's not hard for me because I am in love with this person, and I don't have all the information or the reasons," she said. Stause explained that she chose to record a video because fans who had supported the couple for years "deserved a little bit more than a cold written statement."

At points the message turned openly emotional. "I feel like a little bit of a failure. There's nothing you could say about me that would be worse than what I say to myself. So I just have to kind of heal and figure this out," she said as she began to cry.

She also tried to frame the ending in a gentler way. "Maybe these are the lives and seasons you're meant to have with people, and I had an amazing over four years with G," she said, adding that she will always love her former partner and wishes them both happiness. She also said, with some humor, that she is "definitely never doing this again."

What G Flip Said

G Flip, 33, shared a short statement on Instagram rather than a video. "After 4+ years Chrishell and I are no longer together. I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply," the statement read.

The musician said their "head and heart" were feeling very heavy and that they were not able to talk about the breakup yet. They thanked fans for their support and asked that people respect their privacy at this time.

Taken together, the two messages are notably warm. Neither partner criticized the other, and both stressed affection and respect. Stause's remark that she does not have all the reasons is the only hint at how the decision came about, and she did not elaborate.

A Relationship Lived in Public

Stause and G Flip met in 2021, the musician told Vogue Australia. Stause went public with the relationship during the Season 5 Selling Sunset reunion in May 2022, when she told viewers she had been spending time with someone very important to her. She explained at the time that G Flip is nonbinary and uses they and them pronouns.

About a year later, the couple married in a surprise wedding that Stause shared on Instagram with a montage of their relationship. "Love doesn't always go as planned... Sometimes it's immeasurably better," she wrote in the caption.

They held several more ceremonies over the following years. In July 2025 they exchanged vows for a fourth time at a medieval themed wedding in Los Angeles, which a representative for Stause told TODAY also marked their third anniversary. Stause was previously married to actor Justin Hartley from 2017 to 2021.

Why the Video Struck a Chord

Celebrity breakups are usually announced through brief statements drafted with publicists. Stause took a different route, speaking directly to the camera and admitting that she is still processing the news. That candor stood out to fans of Selling Sunset, a show where her personal life has often been part of the story.

Her words also touched on something many people recognize after a relationship ends: the tendency to blame yourself first. Stause said nothing anyone could say about her would be worse than what she says to herself. Her answer, for now, is to take time to heal and to learn from what happened, rather than to explain it.

For readers going through a breakup of their own, her message carried a simple point worth keeping: a relationship can end without either person being the villain, and grief can sit alongside gratitude for the years that were good.
