A Girl Returned to Soccer at Walking Speed and Counted That as Playing
The story
Teams often only know full speed. A teammate coming back from concussion, surgery, or a flare needs a different role for a while.
Good coaches invent that role: warmups helper, left-back at 50 percent, water and eyes. Belonging is medicine.
What happened next
When she later sprints, the sprint is extra. The identity was saved earlier.
A lesson you can use this week
If you run a team, write a return-to-play plan that includes social return, not just medical clearance.
