The story

Hawker centres feed a city in the open. Pride still sits at some tables.

What happened next

The cook handled the rest with a nod. Dignity stayed intact because nobody had to perform gratitude on cue.

A lesson you can use this week

Pay for the next one. Leave before the speech.
