Russian state-controlled media presenter at RT states Ukrainian children should have been drowned

A presenter from the Russian state-controlled media RT last week said Ukrainian children who saw Russians as occupiers under the Soviet Union should have been drowned.

This was in response to science fiction author Sergei Lukyanenko who visited Ukraine in the 1980’s and children told him their lives would be better if Russia did not occupy their country.

Presenter Anton Krasovsky said children who criticized Russia should have been "thrown straight into a river with a strong current."

Within hours after the comments aired, the channel's editor-in-chief, Margarita Simonyan said she had suspended the presenter, Anton Krasovsky, calling his comments "disgusting."
